Mechatronics Engineers

Design the precision systems that power the future of semiconductor innovation at KLA.

What you’ll do

  • Design and develop precision mechatronic and mechanical subsystems for advanced semiconductor inspection and metrology equipment.
  • Develop motion-control architectures and high-accuracy positioning mechanisms, including mechanisms for EUV applications.
  • Model system dynamics and tune controllers to optimize precision, stability, settling time, and disturbance rejection.
  • Develop and apply digital signal processing algorithms to improve sensor, actuator, and control-system performance.
  • Create test plans, automation, data-acquisition methods, and validation tools using MATLAB/Simulink and Python.
  • Produce 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, tolerance analyses, simulations, and clear engineering documentation.
  • Integrate mechanical, electrical, controls, optics, firmware, and software elements while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Troubleshoot prototypes and production systems, driving design improvements from concept through release and lifecycle support.

What we’re looking for

  • A relevant degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, controls, electrical engineering, or a related field, plus experience appropriate to the role level.
  • Hands-on experience with precision mechatronic systems, motion stages, actuators, sensors, and multidisciplinary system integration.
  • Strong controls fundamentals, including system dynamics, feedback control, controller tuning, and vibration and disturbance mitigation.
  • Experience with digital signal processing, signal analysis, filtering, and real-time implementation for mechatronic applications.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and Python for modeling, analysis, automation, and test development.
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD, tolerance analysis, structural and thermal analysis, FEA, and precision manufacturing methods.
  • Proven ability to plan experiments, analyze data, debug complex hardware/software interactions, and validate performance and reliability.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across systems, optics, electronics, software, manufacturing, supplier, and service teams.
You can help shape the future of technology — KLA solutions enable the production of virtually every electronic device in the world.
